About the job
- Hospital ward boys/ladies are answerable to the Nursing Superintendent/Matron for managing the wards. Qualification: Should be able to read and sign on papers.
- Duties include maintaining cleanliness in the ward, annexes, and environs, as well as maintaining and repairing linen and ward equipment.
- Provide and remove bed pans and pee pots, as well as hot water bottles, and make beds.
- Dispatching of specimens.
- Receive the patient on admission and assist the patient in getting into or out of the bed.
- Transport patients ·to various departments in the hospital.
- Help in feeding patients and giving drinking water to patients and washing utensils.
Job instructions
- Assist the nurse with patient care and observation, as well as simple nursing procedures.
- Assist with the collecting and management of pathology samples.
- Assist the nurse in receiving supplies by running errands for other departments of the hospital and sending loving messages to other departments and persons inside the hospital.
- Assist the nurse by retrieving materials from the laundry, disinfecting mattresses, and returning dirty linen to the laundry.
